Culture and Conflict in the Workplace

Cultural misunderstandings and culture clash are increasing in the workplace. Managers, business people, and others attending this workshop will learn basic communication differences among cultural groups, how cultures approach conflict differently, and practical skills for overcoming cultural difference in the workplace. Participants will identify their own style through the Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory Test.

Topics Include:

  • Understand the concept of general style as a factor in conflict
  • Understand the concept of intercultural conflict styles
  • Determine one's own intercultural conflict style as assessed by the Intercultural Style Inventory Test
  • Recognize the general conflict styles that generally correlate with ethnic populations
  • Examine core conflict resolution skill sets for bridging intercultural conflict styles
  • Discover how to find basic intercultural information
